Add to your product library

Add to your product library

To add product/s to your product, you have two options. Both options can be found within the product library module of Boaz.

Add a product via the interface

Firstly, you can add a product by simply clicking the add product button displayed in the product library menu, or the top right of your page when viewing the product library. This is a helpful way to quickly add one or two products to the library. If you need to upload a large quantity of products to the library, you’ll find it quicker to use the product import function as described below.

You’ll see that the following fields are required:

  1. Product Code (must be unique)
  2. Manufacturer
  3. Brand name
  4. Generic Name
  5. Formulation
  6. Unit size
  7. Unit of Sale
  8. Label Language

Be sure to follow your organisation's working practice by adding essential information such as pricing.

Notes
Note: Product codes must be unique. If you are uploading a product with unique regional or country-level pricing information, be sure to add a suffix to note your country or region, e.g., 123456-LATAM.

Add product/s via spreadsheet import.

Alternatively, and if you have a larger number of products to add to the product library all at once, use the import products tool. This can be helpful for adding a handful, tens or hundreds of products all at once.

First, navigate to the product upload tool in the Product Library module. Next, download the product library sample excel sheet. The product library sample sheet displays all possible information you can add about your products. You might see an example product in row one of your sheet:

Row one lists the heading for each item of information in the product library. Any information that is required will be marked in a colour such as red or blue. If you do not enter information in these fields, your upload will return an error.

Be sure to reference your organisations working practices by uploading information that’s important for reporting such as product pricing.

Alert
Remember, your product code must be unique. If you use a product code that already matches to the product library, the import will ignore that row in your excel sheet.

Completing this task in Excel can be helpful as you have more options to copy paste, and repeat common information such as manufacturer. Once your sheet is prepared you can upload it into your product library:

Notice that you can view who added the product to the library, and when they did so, by viewing the product history in the interface.

Next steps:
  1. Update existing products in your library
  2. Upload your donation.
