So, product/s are already in your library, and you need to update information such as pricing. Similar to adding new product/s, you have two choices:
Update the product in the interface
Firstly, you can search for the product in the product library and click the pencil symbol to update information. Notice that any changes are stored in the product history:
Mass update items in your product library
If you need to update multiple products at once, you can use the library update function. This might save you time when compared to editing each product in the interface one by one.
First, you’ll need to generate a download for update file. This is a spreadsheet that contains the entirety of your product library. Find this download on the library update page:
Next, generate and download a spreadsheet of your product library here:
You can filter the library should you wish to only display certain products, for example, by manufacturer or product type. Once you have saved the file onto your computer and opened it in Excel, you'll see each product listed by row. You can edit any content that is in a grey cell, e.g., nearly everything! Things you can’t change are the product library code and date the item was created:
Use Excel tools to quickly make updates and changes. It can be helpful to a) freeze the top row so you have attribute headers always visible, b) use filters to change what information is displayed at one time, and c) use find and replace to search and edit information for your entire product library. To make it easier to view, you can hide any columns that are not relevant, but refrain from deleting them, which will cause an error when you try to upload the file.
Optionally, if helpful, you can delete any rows (or products) that are not relevant to your update. However, this is not essential, as if you do not make any changes to a product, no changes will be made in the library!
Note: you can not add new products via the update library tool by adding new rows to the sheet. If you need to add new products,
see this article.
Once you've made any changes, save your file and re-upload it on the update library page:
Respond to any errors that might be flagged before confirming your changes. It's good practice to then double check that your changes have taken effect by searching for several of the edited products in the product library and reviewing the changes and product history.
